This is not only due to its size, which is twice as large as the conventional Original 1227, but also due to the associations which its appearance arouses. Its lampshade is designed just like the Anglepoise® work light which was developed in the 1930s. The colour also underlines the retro charm of this attractive light source. The Original 1227 Maxi hanging lamp was brought out in 2014. Its design originates from the English industrial designer George Carwardine (1887-1948), who developed vehicle suspension systems for the automotive industry.
