Multi-Lite designer floor lamp: adjustable auxiliary light source The special thing about this floor lamp from Gubi is the design of the lampshade. The various metal elements - two quarter spheres and two cylinders in the middle - can be rotated around each other in such a way that the light emitted by the lamp used either shines downwards, is indirectly emitted upwards into the surroundings or emerges asymmetrically. In this way, a cosy atmosphere can be created at will in the sitting area of the living room, for example, which can always be adapted to the respective requirements. Louis Weisdorf is the creative mind behind the design of Multi-Lite. The luminaire illustrates the versatility that the Danish designer has achieved in the course of his work in a wide variety of areas. After graduating from the Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen in 1954, Weisdorf worked in the construction industry and from 1961-1971 at the Tivoli amusement park in Copenhagen, where he held the position of chief assistant to the chief architect. At the end of the 1960s he founded his own studio in Copenhagen.
