Northern hanging light Dokka rust coloured

Brand: Northern from Lights.co.uk
Dokka hanging light - a true classic of Norwegian design history The Dokka hanging light is made of durable, long- lasting steel and based on the look of rich and natural tones, bringing them into a harmonious balance. It was deliberately decided that the use of laces or decorative details was not necessary in order to not detract from the essence. The light stands out with its clear, curved shapes and proportions. This lamp is characterized by its sophisticated details. The two-coloured, triangular-shaped steel lampshade provides a very special lighting effect. The direction of light is directed downwards and provides an ever-increasing angle through the funnel form. The white colour of the lampshade on the inside makes the light even brighter. The matt outer surface of Dokka and the small brass ring seem to tie the shade together and creates valuable and elegant details that make the hanging light look even more appealing. Designed in 1954 by pioneer and Norwegian lighting designer Birger Dahl, the Dokka hanging light was the first lamp from Norway to receive the Golden Medal at the prestigious Triennale di Milano. The light is known for its smooth contours and precise proportions. Dokka became one of the best-selling pendant lights ever manufactured in Norway and then disappeared when the previous manufacturer discontinued its lighting production. In 2007, Northern introduced Dokka to the market, with particular emphasis on preserving the characteristics that have made it a classic. The Norwegian brand Northern was founded in 2005 by Ove Rogne, whose designs also form part of the company’s extensive portfolio, and three other friends in the Norwegian capital Oslo. They attach great importance to preserving Scandinavian design traditions and interpreting them in a modern way. Energy efficiency class:A++
