VERPAN VP Globe Glass hanging light 40 cm

Brand: Verpan APS from Lights.co.uk
Designer pendant lamp VP Globe Glass with opal white glass diffusers The VP Globe Glass model comes from a luminaire family designed by Verner Panton in the 1960s and 1970s. Verner Panton (1926-1998) was a Danish architect and designer who, among other things, set the style for the Pop Art movement. Plastic as a material and strong colours were a particular inspiration in his work. While he is known worldwide mainly for his furniture, e.g. the Panton Chair, he has also designed some important lighting classics, which are today produced by the Danish company VERPAN. Each of these lamps comes with a certificate of authenticity and is engraved with Verner Panton's name. The spherical pendant luminaires of the VP Globe are all based on a similar principle. The outer shell consists of a transparent acrylic sphere, which allows a view of the inner workings of the luminaire. Inside the VP Globe Glass there are glass reflectors or diffusers of different sizes, which influence the direction of the light. They are arranged in such a way that the light escapes to the side as room light as well as being gently scattered downwards, so that the VP Globe Glass pendant luminaire can also be used above a dining table, for example.
