Maria Theresia shaped her time and Europe not only politically, but also architecturally. She chose Schönbrunn Palace as the imperial summer residence and carried out decisive structural changes. The interior design, especially the chandeliers, of her period was the influence behind the model Maria Theresia, which was designed by an Austrian light manufacturer which produces its magnificent premium lights by hand in Austria. The basic frame of this two-tier chandelier is made of steel and is furnished with a glossy silver finish. The ornate arms and the crown are overlaid with a glass-like material called verdyl.
