FRITZ HANSEN Kaiser Idell 6631 P matt black

Hanging lamp Kaiser idell™ with matt lacquered surface This pendant lamp has become a true design classic since its first edition in 1931. At that time, the German designer Christian Dell created a series of lamps that are now manufactured by FRITZ HANSEN, the Danish lighting company that has existed since 1872 and which, after a long period of family ownership, was acquired 75% by Skandinavisk Holding in 1979. Kaiser idell™ is designed in the legendary Bauhaus design and fits many contemporary interior styles. The beautiful pendant lamp with the wide shade of matt lacquered steel is ideal as area lighting, e.g. above a dining table, as well as a general light source in the room. The creator of the timelessly beautiful lighting series Kaiser idell™, Christian Dell, comes from Germany. Born in Offenbach in 1893, he trained as a silversmith in Hanau from 1907-1911 and attended the drawing academy there. He then studied at the Saxon School of Applied Arts in Weimar under Henry van de Velde. From 1922-1925 he was foreman of the metal workshop at the Bauhaus in Weimar. In 1926 he became director of the Frankfurt art school. Even at this time, he stood out for his very innovative design style. From 1926 onwards, he dedicated himself to lighting design and mainly produced designs for the company Gebr. Kaiser & Co. His works were considered trend-setting at that time. The manufacturing company Fritz Hansen stands for outstanding designs and high craftsmanship since 1872.
