The veneer slats go off the side of the body at the top, then spiral diagonally downward, and then are drawn inward in a semicircle and reunited. This creates the impression of a spherical shape when viewed from the side. The light is emitted from the inside without glare and creates a very cozy lighting effect. The veneer comes from the wood of the American walnut, it is gray-brown and has a distinct grain with unmistakable stripes. The overall impression conveys a dignified comfort.
