Le Klint designer pendant light 107 with hand-pleated paper lampshade The shape of the pleated lampshade of the pendant light 107 dates back to the time before the company Le Klint was founded. The design was created by the family member and renowned architect Esben Klint, and is still popular today. The bulb is enclosed by the lampshade to prevent glare. The carefully hand-pleated paper lampshade is still a trademark of the Le Klint brand. Today, Le Klint's lampshades are still produced by hand in Odense on the island of Funen, in Denmark. To this day it has still not been possible to have the complicated pleating technique done by machines. Founded in 1943 in Copenhagen, the company places special emphasis on traditional craftsmanship combined with modern production techniques. Le Klint’s lighting creations have been developed in collaboration with architects and designers throughout the 20th century and are constantly being adapted in response to advances in technology, making Le Klint a modern manufacturing company which at the same time maintains a strong tradition of craftsmanship.
