The Record Power DP58P Heavy Duty Pedestal Drill with 50" Column and 5/8" Chuck makes good use of steel and cast iron and has a powerful induction motor. The headstock is made from a large casting in order to help with vibration absorption and to provide rigidity. There is a large, weighty table that operated on a rack and pinion rise and fall mechanism for reliability and accuracy. The DP58P has 12 separate speeds that are operated by a pulley system; this makes it versatile and ideal for drilling both metal and wood. The cast iron table has built in locating slots to allow for a vice to be securely held in place and can be tilted to allow for drilling at angles up to 45º. The motor is able to deal with tight grained hardwoods and even metals with ease. The cast iron handwheel is ergonomically designed for user comfort.
