midgard modular TYP 551 table lamp white 60 cm

Brand: midgard from Lights.co.uk
Adjustable table lamp modular TYPE 551 - classic light dispenser in Bauhaus style, "Made in Germany" The engineer Curt Fischer (1890 - 1956) is considered the inventor of "steerable light" with his designs for lamps with joints, scissor arms and rotating shades. This concept embodies the table lamp modular TYPE 551 from the 1930s in pure culture. It is a further development of models No. 113 and 114, which were used among other things as light dispensers in the metal workshops of the Bauhaus. The then revolutionary design was subsequently taken up by numerous other designers and manufacturers and is still welcome today in almost any living room or on the desk, given the extremely versatile alignment possibilities. As before, all components are manufactured by the manufacturer midgard in Germany, with final assembly taking place at the Hamburg site. The structure is composed of a round aluminum base, two arms made of steel and a shade made of aluminum in the shape of a truncated cone with a slightly slanted light output. In addition, there is a black textile cable and three metal joints that allow adjustment of height, projection and orientation. It is operated by the rotary switch on the cap of the shade.
