The exclusive, unique design immediately becomes an eye-catcher. A large number of plug-in connections made of Opalflex® are placed and bent by hand to create the fascinating shapes. The plastic, developed and patented by the Italian manufacturer Slamp itself, is a combination of technopolymers and glass crystals, which are extremely flexible and completely unbreakable. The material has excellent thermal, electrical and chemical properties and proves to be particularly durable. The surface, which is rich in structure, ensures an attractive light scattering all around. The individual components refract the light and direct it in a certain direction depending on the orientation. Even when switched off, the pendant luminaire creates a feel-good atmosphere with the lightness of a cloud, with the result that it can be used in many rooms and perfectly complements modern furnishing styles. The shade in white optics is harmoniously complemented by a contrasting red cable, which connects it to the discreet round canopy on the ceiling. Thanks to a practical magnetic system, the shade can be quickly and easily removed from the suspension for cleaning. Slamp was founded in 1992 by Roberto Ziliani and is based in Rome. Sustainability is a high priority for the designer lamp manufacturer, which is reflected in the in-house development of durable materials. This reduces environmental costs by a factor of four. Since 2020, the residues from processing are no longer just recycled, but donated to companies that manufacture nesting boxes for bumblebees.
