TECNOLUMEN Wagenfeld floor lamp inner lampshade

Brand: Tecnolumen from Lights.co.uk
A piece of German Bauhaus history - the Wagenfeld floor lamp as an authorised re-edition based on the original design This Wagenfeld floor lamp is a re-edition that is protected by copyright and authorised by Prof. Wilhelm Wagenfeld. It may only be produced by the company TECNOLUMEN. The authenticity of this light is easy to see as each light is numbered consecutively and bears the TECNOLUMEN mark under the base plate. The characteristic design of the Wagenfeld floor lamp is evident at first glance. The opal white fabric lampshade is pointed at the top and is crowned by a nickel-plated metal tip. Beneath the lampshade, there is also a straight, cylindrical under-lampshade surrounding the light bulb. This combination of two lampshades creates a unique lighting accent on the outer lampshade, which allows the light to shine upwards more brightly. The pole is made of brass with a nickel finish and is placed on a black painted base. The power cable with a black fabric cover is connected to the base. This Wagenfeld light also has the characteristic grommet at the socket. This is where the black pull switch for turning the light on and off, which has a nickel-plated metal ball at the end, is located. The combination of these quality characteristics, which can only be found on Wagenfeld lights, shows the authenticity of the Wagenfeld floor lamp. It is a unique designer light that dates back to the Bauhaus era and is thus deeply rooted in German history. This important piece of history has its origins in the 1920s, when Bauhaus design flourished in Weimar. The leading artists of their time came together to create countless masterpieces and something completely new. This amalgamation of art and crafts had a vision that the shape of an object should always follow its intended purpose, the material properties and the production method. The then 24-year-old journeyman Wilhelm Wagenfeld designed the original Wagenfeld table lamp as well as many other models, including this Wagenfeld floor lamp. Wagenfeld was not only a designer, teacher and a manager of metal and glass workshops, but also accepted a chair at Berlin University of the Arts. The company TECNOLUMEN started in 1979 with the reproduction of the Wagenfeld light, which was produced in the factory in Bremen. TECNOLUMEN has committed itself exclusively to the Bauhaus style and its revival. Contemporary works by Bauhaus students are therefore reproduced, as well as models from the Art Deco period, from the sphere of De Stijl and by contemporary artists, including company founder Walter Schnepel, which have a design that is closely linked to the vision of Bauhaus design.
